Description

Deliciously soft and fluffy chocolate chip cruffins perfect for breakfast or a sweet treat!


Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour (or gluten-free flour blend)
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Instant Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm Milk (almond or oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter (vegan butter for plant-based)
  • 2 large Eggs (or flaxseed eggs)
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk and melted butter; mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the surface. Roll tightly into a log.
  6. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place each piece cut-side up into muffin tins.
  7. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush cruffins with melted butter and sprinkle brown sugar on top.
  9. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, use almond or oat milk and vegan butter.
  • Flaxseed eggs can be used as an egg substitute.
